This swimsuit, I mean.
It’s not the greatest ever, but it’s hard to find suits I like that are relatively supportive, don’t let it all hang out, and don’t make me look like a walking “before” photo from a Nutrisystem ad. I have wanted a brown suit for ages. This one is kind of fugly, I think, in some ways. But in others, maybe it’s okay. Or have I lost all perspective?
Things that don’t work on me:
- Skirts (I am long waisted; makes me look trollish)
- Non-supportive tops
- Shorts (just no)
- Bare midriffs
Long torso suits are ideal. Junior sizes? No! Suggestions welcome. I think.
does it have to be brown? i kinda like the black miraclesuits on the site.

btw, i also look terrible in skirts, but for the opposite reason. i am short waisted, so it looks like i’m three feet tall.

i don’t know if you like the skirted suits. i personally love em.
the biggest hesitation i have with the brown suit is the animal print. however, if you can pull animal print off, more power to you, lady! the cut is great.
Hi, Tula! Thanks. That’s a really cute suit, but I have one an awful lot like it already in black. I was kind of hoping to branch out more. Yeah, the skirted suits are cute but again, they really aren’t flattering on me. They just make my legs look weirdly heavy — more so than usual! : D They always cut across in a certain way that emphasizes them rather than draws the old eye up and away! I wish I was a guy and could just go topless with long shorts…why not? The shorts that come with suits usually hike up on me and then they get all bunchy in the water.
I really need to branch out this year and get a color that is not black. However, I swear I just noticed that the suit I linked to is animal print!!!! EW! I just thought it as a mottled color.
Oh, and if I were you I’d by the cutest most colorful bikini there is. That’s also a big drag about this — if you get over a size 8 or 10, it’s like the designers WILL NOT ALLOW you to wear cute prints. All of them become horrible matronly grandma-type florals. Ugh.

PS I also don’t really want to do a huge cleavagey thing since I mainly wear these on family vacations. It just feels…wrong!
